Presidential Portfolio
Director of Presidential Affairs:
The Director of Presidential Affairs plays an important role in supporting the President of the Telfer Students Association. This entails assisting with various administrative functions, including scheduling and correspondence meetings, to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day activities. In the role as Director of Presidential Affairs, the selected candidate will help communicate information to the whole general council. Furthermore, shadowing the president in meetings providing valuable insight into decision-making processes and fosters a collaborative environment within AETSA. Additional responsibilities may include research tasks, drafting messages, and contributing to the strategic planning and execution of association initiatives. Confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive matters are crucial to this role to maintaining a professional and trusted environment within the association.
Academics Portfolio
Director of Academics:
As director of scholarships, you will be overseeing the AETSA Scholarships. This includes creating a form to determine new categories of scholarships, creating application forms for eligibility of candidates, anonymizing applications, leading and creating the scholarship committee that will be created in the next academic year and the fair and honest distribution of scholarships.
Director of Professional Affairs:
The director of professional affairs will be organizing, planning and conducting events that benefit Telfer students’ development both academically and professionally. Events include; The Professional Development Series, Student Appreciation Days, Around The World Taste Events.
Director of Francophone Affairs:
The Director of Francophone Affairs ensures that all French-speaking Telfer students are equally represented in all events, workshops and activities. As Director of Francophone Affairs, you will be responsible for translating documents and correspondence, as well as leading the Semaine de la Francophonie, which consists of events in French.
Director of International Student Relations:
The director of International Student Relations works closely with the Vice-President of Academic Affairs to ensure the Annual General Meeting and other events are well planned and executed. Collaborating with other directors to ensure the functionality of the portfolio as a whole is also expected.

As an AETSA Director of Corporate Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic partnerships and driving the association's financial growth. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining and updating the corporate directive, proactively reaching out to companies to secure sponsorships, and maintaining consistent engagement with corporate contacts throughout the year. This multifaceted position requires a proactive approach to identify, establish, and nurture relationships with potential sponsors.
Responsibilities:

2. Lead outreach initiatives to approach companies for sponsorships, emphasizing the benefits of partnering with our association.

5. Unlike other AETSA roles, the summer semester is critical for success within the corporate portfolio given that most companies finalize their budgets during this time. Having said this, candidates must be available during the summer and throughout the year for weekly engagements.

Director of Educational Programs and Workshops:
Responsibilities:

Coordinate and develop a variety of activities and workshops, such as mandatory workshops on sexual assault, reconciliation, and inclusive language, as well as other educational events on topics related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Collaborate with students, faculty, and other stakeholders to identify the needs and interests of potential participants, and design relevant and engaging programs.

Recruit and supervise facilitators or external speakers, as needed, to conduct workshops and events.

Regularly evaluate the impact and effectiveness of educational programs, gathering feedback from participants and adjusting activities accordingly.

Inputting Hours into Community Engagement Navigator: Overseeing the input of hours into the Community Engagement Navigator system, ensuring that all data regarding employee engagement activities is accurately recorded and updated in a timely manner.

Fostering Interbond within AETSA: Working proactively to build and strengthen interpersonal relationships among AETSA members. This includes organizing activities, initiatives, and programs designed to encourage collaboration, teamwork, and mutual support across departments and teams.

Planning General Council Socials: Taking the lead in organizing and planning social events for the General Council team. This may involve coordinating activities such as team lunches, outings, team-building exercises, and other social gatherings aimed at fostering camaraderie and bonding among council members.

Marketing Portfolio
Director of Social Media:
As Director of Social Media, you will be in charge of growing our online presence, publishing promotional content on our various social media platforms, and responding to messages from our followers in a timely manner with the help and approval of the Vice President of Marketing as well as the President. With the Vice President of Marketing, you will coordinate content schedules which incorporate other portfolios’ requests and requirements in advance of events. You will also work closely with the Director of Content Creation and the Director of Graphic Design to draft social media captions and to ensure all content is published on time. You will be putting to use your strong written communication skills, your ability to multitask on various projects, your creativity and your attention to detail. Bilingualism (FR/EN) is a strong asset. Prior experience (professional or personal) with social media management is strongly encouraged to apply for this role.
Director of Content Creation:
As Director of Content Creation, you will brainstorm creative promotional content, create short videos and visuals for social media posts, as well as draft social media captions, all while collaborating with the Director of Social Media and the Director of Graphic Design. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with current trends to help create relevant content. You will be writing, editing, reviewing and sending monthly newsletters to Telfer students. You may also be asked to capture our events through photography and videography. Bilingualism (FR/EN) is a strong asset. Prior experience (professional or personal) with content creation is required to apply for this role.
Director of Graphic Design:
As Director of Graphic Design, you will create all of our images, posters, graphics and other promotional materials that adhere to and enhance the AETSA brand successfully. You will have to incorporate changes recommended to promotional materials and ensure they are reviewed for errors before submitting. For this role, you must be proficient in creating and editing promotional materials with software applications such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, etc. You must also be able to use creativity and innovation to market AETSA effectively. You will work closely with the Director of Social Media and Director of Content Creation to have social media posts ready on time, which will require task prioritization. You may also work with the Director of Website Administration to provide promotional materials and graphics to update the AETSA website. Bilingualism (FR/EN) is a strong asset. Prior experience (professional or personal) with graphic design is required to apply for this role.
Director of Website Administration:
As Director of Website Administration, you will maintain AETSA’s web content and design to ensure functionality and accuracy. You will review web content, links and design, as well as ensure that any updates or enhancements are made in a timely manner. You will identify useful site performance metrics, as well as collect, track, and report key data points to the Vice President of Marketing. You will create ticket sale forms and events on the website, in coordination with various AETSA portfolios. You will answer any inquiry that comes through the website or redirect it to the appropriate portofolio. You must have basic knowledge of website design and how to use softwares like Wix. Knowledge of programming languages is considered an asset. Bilingualism (FR/EN) is a strong asset. Prior experience (professional or personal) with website management is strongly encouraged to apply for this role.
Social Portfolio
Director of Social:
Responsible for planning, promoting and organizing events to enhance community for Telfer. Works alongside other members of the portfolio to assist with preparation for all of AETSA’s events.
Director of Philanthropy:
Primarily responsible for planning and organizing philanthropic events such as Philanthropy Day, Movember and Wellness Week. Works alongside other members of the portfolio to assist with preparation for AETSA events. Must reside in Ottawa for 3 out of 4 of the summer months (according to bylaws) and must attend UOSU Philanthropic round tables.
O-Week Coordinator:
Responsible for planning and organizing AETSA’s Orientation Week (101-Week) alongside VP Social and the 101-Week Committee to welcome and integrate new students into Telfer. Responsible for ensuring the safety of all 101ers throughout the week alongside the other guides.
Telfer Skis Coordinator:
Primarily responsible for planning and organizing AETSA’s annual Telfer Skis event including transportation, accommodation, lift tickets, dinner and miscellaneous. Works alongside other members of the portfolio to assist with preparation for AETSA events.
